On August 4, Dr. Lü Guo from Suntrans was invited to attend the China-Africa Mineral & Energy Investment Forum and African Key Project Promotion Conference. He served as the on-site host and undertook part of the translation work throughout the event, professionally ensuring the efficient and orderly running of this foreign-related conference. Held at Jingshi Law Office Building, the event aims to build a regular exchange and docking platform for China-Africa cooperation in mineral and energy sectors, promote overseas investment, project implementation and resource coordination of Chinese enterprises, and continuously deepen pragmatic China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
The forum focused on mining investment opportunities and development challenges in Nigeria. It was co-hosted by the Mining Research Institute of China Enterprise News Group and the China Mining Association in Nigeria. The undertakers are Beijing Jingshi Law Firm and Beijing Kuangye Consulting Co., Ltd. Co-organizers include the National Mineral & Energy Law Professional Committee of Jingshi Law Firm, the International Cooperation Committee of Jingshi Law Firm, Hainan Heshun Commercial Mediation Center, the Legal Professional Committee of China Mining Association in Nigeria, the Mining Mediation Professional Committee, the Mining Rule of Law Expert Group of the Natural Resources Branch of China Association for Old Scientists & Technologists, and the Natural Resources Rule of Law Research Center of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). More than 50 key guests from the mining industrial chain gathered at the forum, and 27 Chinese and foreign guests participated in the luncheon exchange session held concurrently

An AI real-time speech-to-text and translation system was deployed at the forum to ensure synchronous conversion of most conference content. For on-site Q&A and in-depth discussions, Dr. Lü Guo took charge of on-site hosting and bilingual interpretation. With years of experience serving African mining projects, Dr. Lü Guo engaged in multiple rounds of in-depth interactions with eight official Nigerian guests through fluent English.
Dr. Lü Guo was fully responsible for hosting and on-site interpretation during the forum luncheon. At the luncheon, Chinese and foreign guests communicated in a relaxed atmosphere. They learned about the customs and cultural differences between the two countries, and introduced their respective business lines and practical demands to bridge supply-demand information gaps. Nigerian officials expressed their delight at seeing a large number of Chinese entrepreneurs launching industrial investments in Africa, noting that many mining projects implemented in Nigeria were advancing smoothly. Meanwhile, they objectively pointed out various practical difficulties encountered by Chinese enterprises operating locally. All participants discussed feasible solutions and built consensus for cooperation.

The luncheon business exchange session featured a flexible and highly interactive atmosphere. With no pre-written scripts or rehearsals in advance, it placed high demands on on-the-spot adaptability and bilingual delivery capabilities. Drawing on rich experience in high-end foreign-related conferences, Dr. Lü Guo calmly controlled the rhythm of on-site exchanges. His bilingual interpretation was precise, professional, rigorous and appropriate, effectively guaranteeing smooth communication during the free discussion session. The entire conference service was standardized and well-organized with satisfying on-site results, winning wide recognition from participating leaders, foreign guests and enterprise representatives.
The forum achieved remarkable and highly implementable outcomes, fully demonstrating the resource-matching value of high-level government-enterprise forums. After the event, two participating enterprises have initiated preliminary contacts and expressed their intention to introduce and purchase our company’s professional services for relevant cooperative projects, bringing new business opportunities for the company.
Combined with the outcomes of this forum and the company’s recent overall development layout, Suntrans has achieved all-round upgrading and cross-border extension of its business system, breaking through the business boundaries of conventional single language translation services. At present, the company has built a diversified and comprehensive foreign-related service matrix integrating professional mining translation, cross-border mining dispute mediation, overseas enterprise due diligence, high-end foreign-related talent hunting, supporting services for cross-border investment and financing, and full-process business coordination for overseas projects. The proportion of high-end value-added non-translation businesses keeps rising, and the business structure is gradually moving toward high-end, systematic, integrated and industrialized development. The company’s capabilities in managing foreign-related projects, resource integration and comprehensive service strength rank among the top in the industry.
With the rapid expansion of business, current work is characterized by multiple business segments, heavy workload, high standards and tight schedules. Apart from routinely undertaking frontline core work such as hosting high-end foreign-related conferences, bilingual government-enterprise liaison and cross-border business negotiations, the company also advances highly specialized back-office tasks including the compilation of industry standard reports, writing of professional academic papers, and the organization and sorting of documents for key projects. All business segments feature high professionalism, high precision and heavy accountability, with stringent requirements for refined operation, professional deliverables and time-sensitive implementation.
Dr. Lü Guo possesses the capability to coordinate and independently manage the company’s entire business chain, enabling him to deliver all types of core assignments and high-end conferences with high standards, quality and efficiency. Nevertheless, as the company continues to expand its business footprint, roll out diversified business segments rapidly and host high-end foreign-related events on a regular basis, one individual can no longer cover all business details, track the progress of every project, and meet the growing market demand. Reliance on a single core team member for frontline work in the long run cannot match the pace of the company’s large-scale, standardized and branded high-quality development.

Drawing on the review of this forum and the company’s medium- and long-term strategic development plan, the core priorities for the next phase will focus on improving team development, strengthening the training of key personnel, establishing standardized business workflows, and building a mature talent pipeline. By promoting professional division of labor within the team, refined implementation of job responsibilities and independent performance of duties by core staff, the company will fully accommodate the growing demands of each business segment, fill gaps in manpower capacity, and create a replicable, iterative and sustainable standardized service system, laying a solid talent foundation for Suntrans’ long-term stable, high-quality and large-scale development.
The successful convening of this China-Africa Mineral & Energy Investment Forum has not only effectively built a government-enterprise dialogue platform and a bridge for project delivery in the mining sector between China and Nigeria as well as China and Africa, but also fully demonstrated Suntrans’ core competitive strengths in cross-border mining services between China and Africa, high-end conference operation, foreign-related business liaison and accurate multilingual interpretation. Moving forward, Suntrans will continue to deepen its engagement in China-Africa mineral and energy cooperation, iteratively upgrade its full-spectrum comprehensive foreign-related service capacity, escort more Chinese enterprises investing in Africa, help elevate China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, and continuously contribute professional expertise to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
