The 14th Tiankuang Steel Industry Chain Forum was held in Beijing under the theme “Seeking ‘Steel’ Opportunities in the New Normal”, attracting 50+ guests from steel, mining and energy. Suntrans chairman Dr. Lü Guo attended and delivered a keynote, “AI Empowering Mining: Intelligent Transformation of the Whole Chain”.
Dr. Lü has attended every edition since the first, through to the 14th. In his keynote he systematically set out AI’s enablement of the mining chain across four dimensions: industry trends, technical solutions, implementation and challenges/outlook.
He argued smart mining should target three goals — intrinsic safety, ultimate efficiency and green low-carbon: AI for prospectivity and resource-assessment precision, smart equipment to cut underground risk, and digitalisation to optimise energy and emissions.
With 20+ years in mining language and advisory, Dr. Lü stressed that whatever the technology, professional judgement and cross-border coordination remain irreplaceable. Suntrans will keep serving mining’s high-quality, international development through language and advisory capability.
