In 2014, Suntrans provided mining-rights consulting and language services for a mining project in Sri Lanka, helping Chinese enterprises understand the country's legal and regulatory framework for mining investment.

Sri Lanka's mining sector is regulated by the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB). The core legislation includes the Mines and Minerals Act No. 33 of 1992 and its supporting royalty regulations. Under the Land (Restrictions on Alienation) Act No. 38 of 2014, foreign investors may lease land for up to 99 years, while the exploration and mining licensing system covers various types such as EL, AML, IML and TDL.

Sri Lanka is known for its gemstones, graphite and ilmenite, as well as precious metals, and is also a key mining cooperation node along the Belt and Road. Combining local regulations with community specifics, Suntrans provides Chinese investors with support on mining-rights applications, compliance and negotiation.

From policy interpretation to on-site interpretation, Suntrans helps Chinese enterprises conduct mining cooperation steadily in emerging markets such as Sri Lanka through its one-stop 'translation + law + cultural adaptation' service.
